How It Works
We have contracted SolarGaines to install an 80.4 kW solar array. By purchasing panels in bulk and installing them in a sunny field facing due south, we will maximize the efficiency of the panels to generate more electricity than standard rooftop panels.
Each month, a household pays a flat rate of $50 to lease their 5 kW of solar panels. The electricity produced by those panels is then sent directly into the grid. The electric utility then credits that amount to the household's electricity bill, reducing their usage and fees. For example, if a household uses 1000 kWh of electricity in a month, while their panels generate 600 kWh, they would only pay Potomac Edison for 400 kWh.

By leasing these panels from Antietam Solar, families get the same benefits of having their own solar panels on their roof, without the high start up costs. You also don't need to worry about any installation costs or maintenance. You can also keep your subscription if you move within the Potomac Edison territory!
